Use Cases
Different journeys. One connected view.
Your working day, weekend ride and everyday essentials do not all move the same way. Bring their reported locations together, with a setup that fits each one.
Cars & Fleets
From one car to a working fleet.
Keep a clear view of personal vehicles, delivery vans or a service fleet. See the latest reported positions, then look back at the journeys behind them.
- See connected vehicles together, with location timestamps and reported movement.
- Review recorded routes, stops and journey details within your plan’s retention period.
- Set zones around a depot or regular destination and choose relevant alerts.

Choose the right connection
Use a supported GPS tracker. A compatible OBD tracker can add vehicle data where the vehicle and device support it.
Location frequency and vehicle data depend on the hardware, configuration, power and network coverage.
Motorcycles
Your next ride. Your recorded route.
Check your bike’s latest reported location and revisit a ride when you are back. Keep location and journey history together without relying on memory alone.
- Check the last location received and when it was reported.
- Replay recorded rides to review the route and stops.
- Create a zone around a garage or parking area for boundary alerts.

Choose the right connection
Choose a supported GPS tracker suitable for the bike’s power supply, installation and outdoor conditions.
A tracker is not an immobilizer or a guarantee of theft recovery. Check installation and battery requirements before choosing hardware.
Pets
A little more context for every adventure.
Bring a compatible pet tracker’s reported locations into your everyday view. Review where an update came from and define familiar places on the map.
- Check the most recent reported position and its timestamp.
- Review available location history from the connected tracker.
- Define a home zone and receive alerts when reported locations cross it.

Choose the right connection
Use a compatible tracker suited to your pet’s size, attachment and environment. Check the integration and update behavior before use.
AirTags / Beacons are not equivalent to continuous GPS tracking. Location gaps and delayed alerts are possible; tracking does not replace supervision.
People
Stay connected. Keep sharing a choice.
Coordinate family plans or a field team through informed, mutual location sharing. Give people a clear understanding of what is shared and who can see it.
- View locations that people have agreed to share, alongside your other assets.
- Check the time of the last update before assuming someone is still there.
- Limit access to the people who need it and revoke share links when they are no longer needed.

Choose the right connection
Use a supported iOS or Android phone with location permissions, suitable background settings and the person’s informed consent.
Never track another person secretly. Phone settings, battery saving and connectivity can delay updates. PointerOn is not an emergency-response service.
Assets
Less searching. More knowing where to look.
Organize tools, equipment, luggage and shipments in one place. See the latest reported location and use categories to keep a growing collection manageable.
- Keep items and equipment on the same map as connected vehicles.
- Group assets with useful names and categories so the right item is easier to find.
- Use location history and relevant zones to add context to movements between sites.

Choose the right connection
Choose AirTags / Beacons for compatible item-tracking setups, or a supported GPS tracker when the asset and reporting needs call for it.
Find My items rely on network sightings rather than a continuous GPS feed. Check coverage, power, integration and transport restrictions for your setup.
Make it yours
A thoughtful setup goes a long way.
Match the device to the job
Start with what you want to locate, how often you need updates and the coverage available. Confirm device compatibility before purchasing.
Give each location context
Name your assets, group them into categories and define useful places. Check update timestamps so you know how recent the information is.
Share deliberately
Agree on consent and access before sharing a person’s location. Choose the appropriate permissions and review access when needs change.
Before you connect
A few things worth knowing.
The right expectations matter as much as the right device.
Will every device update in real time?
No. GPS trackers, Find My items, beacons and phones report differently. An update interval is a sync setting, not a guarantee of a new location. Coverage, power, permissions and network sightings can all affect freshness.
Can I use a tracker I already own?
Possibly. Check the exact device, supported protocol or integration, and any setup requirements first. A device being a GPS tracker or Bluetooth beacon does not automatically make it compatible.
Can I share a person’s location?
Only with their informed consent and the required device permissions. Explain the purpose and who will have access. Use the appropriate access controls, and stop sharing when consent is withdrawn.
How do plans and device fees work?
Choose an organization plan and account for the separate recurring fees for connected devices. Feature access and history retention depend on the plan. Hardware purchases are separate; see pricing for the current plan and device rates.
Your next step
Start with what matters to you.
Choose your plan, connect a compatible device and build a view that fits your day.
